Born in San José, Costa Rica, on February 19, 1991, Ana Cristina Arias is a living example that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams and make them come true.
Although her family is originally from Heredia, Ana grew up in the coastal town of Jaco, where she completed both primary and secondary school. Growing up in such a vibrant beachside community shaped her childhood and adolescence with a deep connection to nature and memorable moments with friends.
After graduating high school, she chose to study Business Administration, following in her father’s professional footsteps. This led her to live in Heredia while attending the Universidad Nacional — her first experience living away from her family.
Initially, she pursued business studies with the idea of someday managing her family’s business. However, in her final year of university and at just 19 years old, Ana landed a part-time job at an investment and finance firm, which later hired her full-time after graduation.
From 2011 to 2013, she worked as a Junior Financial Analyst, gaining valuable experience in numbers and finance. This role allowed her to travel internationally and connect with people from different backgrounds. Although she was successful in her role, Ana never felt fully aligned with the corporate world. Nonetheless, her dedication and high personal standards kept her committed until life gave her a new perspective.
While on a business trip in Mexico, Ana received the heartbreaking news of a close family member’s passing. That moment changed everything. It made her reflect deeply on the importance of balance, family, and purpose — and ultimately led to her decision to leave her job and redirect her path.
From that point forward, her life took a 360-degree turn. Ana decided to study interior design — a passion she had since childhood but once considered just a hobby. With no guarantees and using the savings from years of work, she made the bold decision to invest in her dream.
She found a prestigious university in Argentina known for its high academic standards and was accepted — a pivotal moment that confirmed she was on the right path. Moving to Buenos Aires, a city completely foreign to her, was challenging yet transformative. Her desire to learn and dedication to her new path helped her overcome fears and embrace the journey.
From 2014 to 2019, Ana lived in Buenos Aires and immersed herself in the world of interior design, gaining the skills and artistic knowledge she now shares with her peers in Costa Rica. Beyond her education, this experience marked a chapter of profound personal growth. Transitioning from the small beach town of Jaco to a bustling metropolis opened her mind and reshaped her perspective.
Upon returning to Costa Rica, her family moved back to Jaco and settled in the mountains — a drastic change after five years in Argentina. Just days after returning, Ana was referred for a role with the architectural team at Jacó Desarrollos, who were seeking an interior designer. Despite her limited experience, she impressed the hiring team with her talent and secured the job.
Later, an old friend invited her to join the sales team at Jaco Real Estate CR, where she found a second professional family. The team welcomed her with open arms and gave her the opportunity to continue her interior design projects alongside her work in property sales.
For Ana, what she values most in her work is the collaboration and mutual learning within the team. She balances both roles — real estate sales and interior design — with equal passion and dedication. Without hesitation, she believes she is living the best stage of her professional life and looks forward to continued growth and learning.
Ana is passionate about travel, never starts her day without a good cup of Costa Rican coffee, and is an avid reader. She’s a sensitive, family-oriented, sociable, and disciplined woman. A creative spirit with a love for sports and a free soul, she brings emotion, passion, and excellence to everything she does.
